Five star hygiene

Five star hygiene
09 January 2012

The Manor House has retained its five star food hygiene rating, following a surprise inspection from officers of Waverley Borough Council's Environmental Health Department.

The inspection covers all aspects of the food production process at the conference centre from the delivery of raw materials, their storage, their preparation, cooking and the storage of food once it has been prepared. Inspectors also check whether the process is recorded and checked, as well as kitchen cleanliness.

The score will be recorded as part of Scores on the Doors, the national scheme that allows diners to see the ratings of every establishment that makes and sells food in the UK, following assessment by local council officials. The minimum score is one star, the maximum is five stars.

"We are delighted with the result" says Manor House Head Chef Nick Jeffels. "Everybody should be able to eat out knowing that their meal has been safely produced and at the Manor House, that is clearly the case"
